GENERAL QUESTIONS

Q.
What time can I arrive at the resort?
A. Check-in time is 3pm which means you should arrive after this time. Early check-in is subject to an additional charge.

Q. What time do I have to leave by?
A. Check-out time is 9 AM. You are expected to be out of your unit and off premise by this time. A late check-out is subject to an additional charge.

Q. Do you allow pets at the resort?
A. No pets are allowed at the resort - either in the units or on resort property. If you have guests visiting you while at the resort be sure they are aware of our no pet policy.

Q. How do I figure out how much a cottage or home will cost?
A. First, determine the dates you want to come and which unit you would like. Next, find the season on the rate page that your dates come under. Then look under the unit you want and the length of stay to find out the rate. Don't forget to add extra person charges if applicable. Finally, add sales and room tax which is 9%.

Q. How do I make a reservation?
A. Call our toll free number, 800/221-7699 or use the availability or online reservations links above. If the cottage or vacation home you want is open for the dates you request, we'll reserve it for you pending receipt of your deposit.

Q. How much of a deposit do I need?
A. A deposit equal to half of the base rate is required to hold a reservation. Base rate is the rate before adding extra persons or taxes.

Q. When is the deposit due?
A. Your deposit is due within one week of making a reservation.

Q. What happens to my deposit if I cancel my reservation?
A. That depends on how many days before arrival you cancel your reservation. Please see our cancellation policy.

Q. When do I pay my bill?
A. Your bill should be paid in full upon arrival.

Q. Is the bedding furnished?
A. Yes, all the bedding is furnished. The beds will be made up for you prior to your arrival.

Q. Are towels included?
A. Kitchen towels are provided but personal towels are not included. Bring your own towels or rent them at the office for $2 a set.

Q. What if I need a crib or high chair?
A. Let us know before your arrival and we'll have them set up for you when you arrive.

Q. Are fireworks allowed at the resort?

A. No fireworks are allowed at the resort.

SPRING, SUMMER AND FALL QUESTIONS

Q.
Do you rent pontoon boats and outboard motors?
A.
Yes, we rent 5 different size pontoon boats and also 9.8 HP outboard motors. For details on our boat and motor rentals click on rentals.

Q. Can I bring my own boat and is there a charge?
A. Yes you can bring your boat. There will only be a charge if you need more than 2 mooring spots. We can't guarantee the availability of extra mooring spots.

Q. Is there a boat launch at the resort?
A. No there isn't one at the resort. The public boat launch is 2 miles from the resort.

Q. When do you take guests water skiing?
A. Weather permitting we take guests water skiing Monday thru Friday while on the Summer rates. Waterskiing starts at 9:30 AM and we pull until we're out of skiers. Each person can go twice each morning. We don't go back out in the afternoon. Once our equipment is put away, we're done for that day. We don't pull skiers in the rain and may cancel due to high winds. We use a Malibu Response ski boat and provide skis and vests. You are welcome to use your own ski if you prefer.

Q. When is the best time to come up fishing?
A. The best fishing is usually from mid May through mid June. December ice fishing can also be excellent. September and October would be the next best fishing time.

Q. Where can I golf in the area?
A. There are 7 golf courses within 20 miles of the resort. We offer discounts for the St. Germain Golf Course and Trout Lake Golf Course to our guests in spring and fall. back to top

WINTER QUESTIONS

Q. What if there isn't enough snow to snowmobile?
A. Then our snow policy goes into effect. Under the snow policy there is a cancellation fee of $25. After deducting the cancellation fee from you deposit, the remaining balance becomes a snow credit. A snow credit can be used at any time of the year and is good for two years at Idle Hours Resort.

Q. When is the snow policy in effect?
A.
The snow policy is in effect if the snowmobile trails are closed or the clubs are not grooming due to a lack of snow. The snow policy will not go into effect until 72 hours before your scheduled arrival. If you cancel before that our regular cancellation policy applies. back to top
